ABOUT US

Peruvian Accents was founded by Augusto V. Guerra in 2004.  During one of his trips to Cusco with some American and European friends in 2000, Augusto fell in love with the School of Cusco paintings as well as the colonial furniture used in Cusco cathedrals, hotels, restaurants and private homes.  One evening, Augusto took a walk through the streets of the legendary San Blas, one of the most picturesque communities of Cusco, also known as the Artisans’ District, characterized by its steep and narrow streets that wind around the old colonial homes constructed with original Incan stone, where artisans house their numerous workshops and stores of famous popular artists of the area.  That evening, Augusto met Xavier Zuñiga, an artist in Cusco, in his shop where he displayed a variety of paintings that showcased his talent and technique.  Xavier was raised in San Blas with his brothers and sisters who are also artisans.
